Do you ever wonder how to toast a bun like a restaurant? It’s super easy to do, and this article will show you how!

As I write this, most of the United States is in quarantine… I hope this will soon be a faded memory. However, cooking is now a very important skill. I know many people are missing restaurants, and sometimes it’s just the little touches that make the restaurants seem so special.

One of my favorite burger joints is in Nashville. It’s called The Pharmacy. One thing I noticed about their burgers is they were served on a potato bun, toasted. O. M. G. What I’d give for a Pharmacy burger right now.  But since I can’t… let me tell you how to perfectly toast a hamburger bun just like a restaurant.

How to Toast a Hamburger Bun on a Griddle

I use a griddle pan.

If you don’t have a griddle pan, you can use a non-stick skillet – even wipe out the one you may have used for burgers and reuse it for less mess if you like.

Get the griddle nice and hot. I melt a little butter on the griddle (1-2 tablespoons). I make sure to rub it around on the entire griddle surface.

Then, place both sides of your bun face down on the griddle surface. It doesn’t take long, so make sure you check them frequently. When I say it doesn’t take long, I mean maybe 30 seconds. It really depends on how hot your griddle is. Just babysit it!

It leaves a delicious, golden, buttery bun that is going to take your burgers up a notch!!!
