Are you wondering about Kroger Clicklist Grocery Pickup vs. Walmart Grocery Pickup? Not sure what’s best? This list of pros and cons of each pickup service is sure to help you make a choice best for you! See which one comes out on top for me!
Grocery shopping may be my most hated chore. It never fails I run into a million people, and it takes me five times longer to get out than I planned. I also happen to be that girl that realizes I forgot something in aisle 5 when I’m in aisle 9, and I tend to wander all over the store. When I grocery shop, I make impulsive choices (like a family size bag of Hershey kisses).
If you are a regular reader of my blog, you know that I love Kroger and Kroger ClickList. ClickList completely changed the game for me!! It made getting groceries so much easier. However, I was given a code for $10 off the Walmart Grocery Pickup by a friend for the newly revealed grocery pickup at our local Walmart. This is Walmart’s version of ClickList. So, I gave this new way of online shopping a try.
This is a review of the Kroger ClickList versus Walmart Grocery Pickup. This comparison will give you the pros and cons of each. I hope you find it helpful when deciding which grocery pickup you want to use.
Kroger Clicklist vs. Walmart Grocery Pickup
Kroger ClickList Pros
-
- No impulse buying in-store, thus saving money!
-
- Pay online with your debit/credit card when checking out online.
-
- They allow the use of coupons, and particularly those specially selected Kroger coupons they send their loyal customers in the mail. I often get coupons for completely free items from Kroger, and their coupons are customized to what you frequently purchase. Sometimes, I get coupons that are specifically for free items for using the Kroger ClickList.
-
- Speaking of coupons, they will allow you to add digital coupons directly as you shop online and even show that there is an available coupon if you didn’t know!
-
- When ordering, I can choose to substitute or not if they are out of an item.
-
- They allow special instructions – for example, I can request they pick out green bananas for me vs ripe ones.
-
- Same-day pickup provided you order a few hours ahead.
-
- They send surveys after you pick up, and if you answer, you get points toward your fuel purchases.
-
- You get a paper receipt, so you can use those wonderful money-back apps such as Ibotta to help you save even more money.

-
- You can’t pay with cash.
-
- It costs $4.95 for the pickup service, and let’s face it – that adds up if you do it weekly.
Walmart Grocery Pickup Pros
-
- No impulse buying in-store, thus saving money!
-
- Pay online with your debit/credit card when checking out online.
-
- There is an app to use for shopping that is so easy to use, and groceries are very easy to find and add to your cart. (I found it to be much more user-friendly than Kroger’s website.)
-
- The service is completely free.
-
- Walmart does order same day pick up as well, but it tends to need a larger chunk of advanced time.
-
- When ordering, I can choose to substitute or not if they are out of an item.
-
- You can check in on your way there through the app, and it uses a GPS to know you have arrived and they send you a message that you have arrived and they are on their way out with your groceries!
-
- You can order storewide!! So, if I need a high-speed blender that week, I can certainly add it to my list!
Walmart Grocery Pickup Cons
-
- No paper receipt so I can not use my cashback apps!
-
- The minimum order is $30, so you can’t use it for small orders.
This is my overall impression of both stores’ grocery pick up and ClickList services. I hope it helps you decide which service you would like to use!! Let me know your experiences! Currently, Walmart is coming out on top for me, and what I’m using most of the time!!
