I love bacon. Who doesn’t?
What I don’t like is the splattering of grease all over my stovetop and – even worse – on myself. So, I started cooking my bacon in the oven years ago. I don’t do it any other way now!
To be honest, the best bacon I’ve ever put in my mouth is made by my momma. She deep-fries her bacon on the stove in a skillet, but it makes me a nervous wreck. I’m scared to death that big skillet of grease and oil is going to get knocked over on her somehow. But, she’s a pro and I don’t think I inherited my clumsiness from her.

How to Make Bacon in the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, I start by lining the bacon on a rimmed baking sheet lined with foil. (The foil makes for very easy cleanup!)
I recommend trying to space them out somewhat and make sure they aren’t touching. However, I like to make a whole package of bacon and I just squish them close together as much as possible, then space them out as they shrink down!
I put them in for 10 minutes, then I CAREFULLY get them out and flip the bacon over and put back in for another 6-10 minutes. You have to watch them very closely after you flip them because it’s going to go quickly after that.
Once you get the bacon out of the oven and they are done to your preferred level of crispiness, then transfer them over to a plate with paper towels to drain the grease. I usually put a top layer on and blot them gently.
There you go! Perfectly crispy bacon straight from your oven!!
