My friend had an end of the summer get together recently. We all brought food, grilled, and swam. We also played corn hole, which was my first time playing and I won’t talk about how bad I am at that.
I love get-togethers with my friends. I particularly love it when we all bring dishes to graze on through the night.
Dips are probably some of my favorite foods! Very few dips disappoint me. I also happen to love cheese, so when dips and cheese meet it’s a match made in heaven.
However, some rise above others. I found this particular dip from Pioneer Woman, but in her version, she used Blue Cheese. I’m sure that’s tasty, but a small problem — I’m allergic to Blue Cheese. Like a lot. So that was a deal-breaker.
I adapted this recipe to my own wants, needs, and allergies…If you can say adapted. I don’t even know if you should consider it a recipe because it’s just a toss and mix kind of dip. Of course, that is the easiest kind of recipe!
Million Dollar Dip Recipe
1/2 cup slivered almonds
One 8-ounce package cream cheese, at room temperature
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
1/2 cup of real bacon bits
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon cayenne
Crackers for serving
Putting the Million Dollar Dip Together
I started by toasting my slivered almonds. You don’t have to, but I like them toasted. All you have to do is put them in a dry skillet and roast them over medium-low. I shake the skillet occasionally so they don’t get burnt, and it takes about 5 minutes.

Let the almonds cool down.
Now, you start with your cream cheese that’s at room temperature and add your mayonnaise. Mix that together.
Add in your cheeses. You can grate the cheese yourself before you start or you can just use the packaged shredded cheeses. Grated cheeses always taste best, but these are getting mixed in a dip and I was just using the shortest method.
Add in the bacon bits and almonds. Add your garlic powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper and mix together.

Place it in the refrigerator and let it chill.
Serve with crackers. I used two different crackers – the Town House pita crackers and then regular Ritz crackers.
This dip didn’t last long. It was devoured!! It is a great appetizer to serve as everyone waits for the main food to come off the grill.

Enjoy!
