I just finished yet another easy grocery pickup at Walmart.
I originally tried it with a friend’s referral code because I figured I had nothing to lose, and that was an understatement. Since I have started using Walmart’s answer to the Clicklist, my life has gotten a lot easier. I also want to add that this is NOT a sponsored post and truly reflects a regular mom’s experience with Walmart Grocery Pickup.
By using the grocery pickup at Walmart, I am able to stay in my car when I get my groceries. There are so many benefits to using this curbside grocery service! I save money because I’m not tempted for last-minute items or extras. I also eat healthier because I’m not tempted by last-minute items and sweet additions to my cart. This also means that there is no buckling or unbuckling my child and hauling him through the store either.
Walmart Grocery Pickup Review
I know you want to know if the Walmart Grocery Pickup is worth it!
I highly recommend this FREE Walmart service and there are few things you may have questions about – I’m here to answer those! (Also, stay tuned to the end for a free $10 off code for your FIRST Walmart Grocery Pickup!)
1) Does Walmart Grocery Pickup cost any additional money or fees?
No! The grocery pickup at Walmart does not cost additional money and there is no service fee. This is a free service! There are no markups and the prices are the same as the in-store prices. They also do not allow personal shoppers to accept tips. It does have a minimum order of $30, however.
2) Can I pick up groceries from Walmart on the same day?
Yes! As long as you order before 1 pm, you can pick up the same day. You simply just look for an open pickup window via their app. You can also schedule a few days out as well. I usually order mine on Saturday and pick up on Sunday afternoon! It’s very flexible to suit your needs.
3 ) How do you pay at Walmart Pickup?
You pay for your Walmart grocery pickup via debit or credit card. That is done via the app or website before you go to the store. There is no cash or other forms of currency accepted at this time, but some select stores accept EBT at this time. You can search their site here to see if they accept EBT.
4) What if I realize I forget to order something after I have placed the order?
One of my favorite things about the Walmart grocery app is that I can keep adding to my list if I forgot something. Just last night before bedtime, I realized I had used the last of the eggs and didn’t add any to my list. With a few easy clicks, that was added to my list and ready for my next day pickup. When you check out, it will let you know the cut off time for additions.
5) Is the grocery pickup at every Walmart store?
Unfortunately, no. Walmart Grocery pickup is not at every store yet. You can look up with your zip code to find out the closest store to you here. My local store actually doesn’t have it, however, I drive 10 minutes to get to the next one that does, and it’s worth every bit of the 10 minutes.
6) Can I use coupons with my Walmart grocery pickup?
No, you can not use coupons. However, you can use the Checkout 51 cashback program using the emailed receipt.
7) Can I order anything in Walmart or just groceries?
You can order anything. I ordered my last instant pot with my grocery list!! If you need something in addition to your groceries, go for it! It makes life even easier!
8) How is the customer service at Walmart when you pick up from them?
I have no complaints about my customer service when I pick up my groceries at Walmart. I do this weekly and have for a very long time now and I have honestly never had bad service.
The app allows you to check in on your way to the store. It uses GPS to estimate your arrival! Once you arrive, the grocery app will ask you for the number of your parking space and color of your car.
The people waiting on me are typically very friendly and prompt. I never wait for long periods of time even when there are other cars there. They load it into the car for you.
After I’ve checked in, I usually get an email from Walmart telling me my substitutions and I know what is substituted before they even make it to my car! My substitutions have always been very fair, but also I don’t tend to have a lot of substitutions. If you don’t want something they have subbed, you can decline it without issue.
If you are picky about your produce, you can even ask to see it before you accept it. However, I have never once had an issue with my produce. I even bought strawberries and got very nice looking ones. I feel like personal shoppers strive to give you the best quality.
I had one issue – ever. I got home and realized my bread was past its sell-by date. So, I called the customer care line. Not only did they apologize and reimburse me, but they gave me $10 off my next purchase. I thought that was more than fair and truly great customer service.
