A Gift Guide for the Knitter in Your Life

After listening to my secretary squeal from the excitement that Hallmark is now playing Christmas movies, and listening to her countdown to Christmas on a daily basis, I can’t deny Christmas is upon us!  It isn’t that far off!

In that spirit, from now until Christmas, I am going to publish a gift guide every Friday.  (If you would like to be on my email list for a reminder – sign up on the sidebar!!!)

I love gifts, and giving gifts, and so this gift guide series has me super excited!  It also is going to help me brainstorm for my own friends and family!

This first gift guide is for the knitting lover.  (You guys know I’m going to have to get some knitting in here every now and then, right?)  Hopefully, you will find a gift for every knitter in your life, including gifts for the knitter who has everything.

A Gift Guide for Knitters Who Have Everything

A Knitter Needs Yarn

Obviously, your knitter needs yarn.  If you know a knitter, you know that we never have enough yarn!  We love it.  We collect it.  It is never unwanted!

If you aren’t sure what kind of yarn to buy, I’d suggest a nice sock yarn.  There is so much you can do with sock yarn, other than just socks.  You can make shawls, scarves, cowls, mittens… it’s so versatile!  You can get the best selling Knit Picks sock yarn here!!  It’s also very very affordable, while good quality.

A Needle Set

You really can’t go wrong with an interchangeable needle set!  This allows multiple sizes to be interchanged.  I highly recommend the Addi Click Turbo Needle System.  Each kit includes 10 different sizes of Addi Turbo tips: 3.5mm, 3.75mm, 4.0mm, 4.5mm, 5.0mm, 5.5mm, 6.0mm, 8.0mm, 9.0mm, and 10.0mm; includes Skacel’s exclusive and extremely pliable BLUE cords.

A Swift and a Ball Winder

Every knitter needs their own swift and ball winder.  This allows for your knitter to wind their own balls of yarn with very little effort.  And without needing your help!

Project Bags

I have a small project bag problem.  My project bags are – well – I have A LOT of them.  I can’t help myself.  There are so many choices and so many adorable choices.

My absolute favorite bag is from Slipped Stitch Studios.  I have probably ten of her bags.  I love the drawstring bags, and I have them in every size!  They wash well too.

If you aren’t sure which bag to buy for your knitter, you can get gift cards to her shop!

Cool Accessories and Accessory Kits

Knitters need tons of accessories.  You can never have enough tape measures, stitch markers, tapestry needles, or row counters!

I love this Clover Knit Mate Accessory Kit.  It comes with a knitting needle gauge, double-ended stitch holder, row counter, 4 point protectors: 2 small, 2 large, jumbo darning needle, flexible measuring tape, and 20 locking stitch markers.  They come in a very convenient pouch.

Access to More Knitting Classes

You can gift them ANY Craftsy online class.  I haven’t met a knitter yet who doesn’t have something new they want to try or learn!

Cool Knitting Mugs

Most knitters like knitting related mugs!  We all love sipping our hot drinks while knitting.  Tea and yarn go together like peas and carrots.

This Sheep and Kitten mug is adorable!

Knitters Love Knitting Gear

Knitters enjoy talking about knitting, and we like wearing knitting gear too.  That is a great talking point for us to later talk about knitting!  You can use this to get funny gifts for knitters as well!

Here’s a shirt about knitting being an apocalyptic life skill.  Or maybe this one comparing knitting and chocolate!

Or we can combine science and knitting for the ultimate knitting nerd!

Think Outside the Box for Knitters

Knitters are usually unique and innovative.  They will like outside the box gifts.

Try a cedar box for storage of sweaters and other knitted objects.  Or get them a lint shaver for their sweaters.

What other gifts would you suggest for a knitter?  I hope this helps you if you have a loved one who knits!!

Stay tuned for my daily Friday gift guides!  Is there a type of person you’d like a gift guide for?  Let me know!
