If you are like us, mornings are hectic and things need to be fast. Very often this doesn’t leave a lot of room for a healthy breakfast. We’ve found several different products we enjoy to help breakfast be quick and still tasty.
Quick Easy Breakfasts for School Mornings
Kodiak Minute Muffins. These come in a variety of flavors. The double dark chocolate is a favorite of ours. All you have to do with these are peel off the top, add 1/4 cup of water, and microwave for one minute. After one minute of being in the microwave, you have a delicious morning muffin that has 6 grams of protein, 100% whole grain, and 4 grams of fiber.
Kind breakfast bars. These also come in a variety of flavors, with peanut butter being our favorite. They come packaged with 2 bars to a pack. Also 100% whole grain with super grains such as oats and quinoa. They also happen to be gluten-free. These are a great bar that is portable. My son has eaten these in the car when we are running super late.
Kind also makes a Kids Granola Bar.
Light and Fit Greek yogurt. My son likes the vanilla with Kind Granola added, particularly the peanut butter flavor. He also loves it when we add fresh strawberries and blueberries. Sometimes I make a parfait for him in mason jars, and he can just grab and go and it’s already assembled for him.
Carnation instant breakfast. These are often paired with breakfast. He likes the strawberry flavor. You can get these as a mix, but my son prefers the bottles that are pre-mixed. Personally, so do I for the ease. A single eight-ounce bottle provides 10 grams protein to help build and maintain muscle, contains as much calcium as a six-ounce cup of yogurt, and twice the vitamin D as an eight-ounce glass of milk. We discovered these drinks when my son wasn’t gaining weight and the pediatrician recommended them.

Instant oatmeal. I particularly like the variety I linked to because you can switch the flavors up. Just add boiling water, and instantly a warm delicious morning meal. You can pair it up with some fruit.
You can also make-ahead their favorite foods so you can heat them up in early mornings. My son loves my Breakfast and Sausage Quiche, so often I make it on a Sunday for breakfast through the week.
I hope this gives you some great ideas for school morning breakfasts. Do you have any go-to breakfasts for your school-aged children? I’d love to hear about them, so I can add them to our morning routines!

These are great ideas. We are doing our first summer camp this morning and it was a nice reminder that: holy cow, mornings are tough when you have somewhere to be. Going to need these when school starts in a few weeks!
Charissa school mornings are tough for us too!!! Good to have at least breakfast plans in place! ☺️
These are all great ideas! My kids don’t eat breakfast until noonish (we homeschool and they are just not morning people) but we’ve taken a ton of road trips this summer, with several more still to come and these would be great for those mornings when I’m trying to cram everyone and everything into the car.
Rebecca, thanks for reading! Cramming into the car also needs fast! I actually mentioned the KIND bars in my post about Packing the Car for a Family Road Trip!
These look like interesting ideas – but here in India, ready to eat options are limited. We usually end up giving him sandwiches, parathas (indian dish!) or honey chilli potato for school. before leaving he has his usual milk and egg!
My son also likes milk and eggs as well! We tend to make large breakfasts that are homemade on our weekends!
Jelony | Blogging to help mums – These are great options to choose from. I especially like the Kind Kids Chewy chocolate chips. I will check in my local supermarket if they store them so I can buy one. Thanks
Jelony, I love the KIND brand in general. I feel like it’s an option that is healthy yet convenient!
Such a great options! As a mom of 5, two who attend public school. These are some great choices for them to grab and go! I live for the convenience!

Instant oatmeal is definitely my go to quick breakfast. It’s just so easy to make!
Anitra, yes it is!
We do a LOT of oatmeal in this house, and I’m pretty sure my toddler is going to start turning her nose up at it soon, so this article came at a good time! I’ll have some of these options ready.
Samantha, we went through a stage where he was tired of oatmeal and we had to broaden our choices too!!! Hope these help!
Enjoyed reading the article above , really explains everything in detail, the article is very interesting and effective.Thank you and good luck for the upcoming articles
These ideas are interesting. I have not tried these but I am worried about sugar content. I know kids might be ok. I try to give them homemade omelets, muffins, waffles etc.
I understand your sugar content woes. That’s why I mention the meal prep for breakfasts on Sunday as well. However, the Kodiak muffins have 19 grams of sugar and in correlation with the amount of other macronutrients that’s not too bad.
These are some great ideas! My kids are really picky for breakfast. Thankfully, my daughters school feeds her breakfast for free every day and my mom watches my son while I’m at work. I’ll have to share these with her to see if it will help her in the morning! Thanks!!
Our school also serves free breakfast but my picky son doesn’t like them usually. Hope these ideas are helpful!
I am always looking for new quick and easy breakfast ideas for myself and my girls to take with us. We tend to eat breakfast on the go as none of us are awake enough to eat before we have to leave the house! I now have a few more to add to my list. I can’t wait to try to minute muffins!
I can’t wait to try those muffins! We’re getting ready to head back to school, and I definitely needed these ideas. Thanks!
